Invoices for $0 Services
If your client has a $0 balance for a service but you would still like PracticeQ to generate an invoice, read the following.
Reasons for $0 Service
- The client may have a $0 balance for many possible reasons, such as:
- A coupon was applied to the service
- Insurance covered the cost
- A promotional offer, such as a free consultation
PracticeQ will not generate an invoice for a $0 service if:
- In the service's Override settings, the Automatic charge setting is set to Use Account Default
- In this situation, PracticeQ will also not trigger an auto-charge for the service.

PracticeQ will generate an invoice for a $0 service if:
- In the service's Override settings, the Automatic charge setting is set to Charge client on the day of the appointment OR Charge client immediately upon booking
What happens when PracticeQ generates a $0 invoice?
- Since the client responsibility is $0, PracticeQ will automatically mark the $0 invoice as paid.
- PracticeQ will not request a credit card when the client books the $0 service UNLESS in the service's Override settings, the Require Credit Card? field is set to Require a Credit Card.
- This may be useful to your practice if you offer free consultations but would like to get the client's card on file upon their first booking.
