PracticeQ Payments: Voids

Do you need to void a payment entered in PracticeQ Payments before the funds settle? Here's what you need to know.

How do I void a credit/debit card payment?

  • If you refund a credit/debit card payment before the payment settles (transactions batch daily at approximately 7:30 PM Eastern), it will reflect as a void in your PracticeQ Payments portal.
    • ***See Note below
  • These voided transactions will show as refunds in PracticeQ.
  • Voids are not subject to processing fees.

How do I void an ACH payment?

  • There is no way to manually void an ACH payment; however, ACH payments that do not settle (for example, due to insufficient funds) will be "clawed back."
  • These clawed back ACH transactions will reflect as voids in your PracticeQ Payments portal.
  • In PracticeQ, when an ACH transaction is clawed back, it will show in the invoice log that the transaction failed to settle, and the invoice will revert back to past due or unpaid.

***Note: Transactions can settle at 7:30 PM Eastern but not be scheduled for deposit until the next day, or later.
