Set Up a Vanity URL
Vanity URLs are custom URLs that help users remember and find a page. They also serve to add your brand to a given web address.
- Here is an example of a vanity URL: https://melissa.intakeq.com/booking
- PracticeQ allows you to set up a base Vanity URL that will be used for your public PracticeQ assets, such as the secure client portal and the booking page.
Set Up Your Vanity URL
Set your vanity URL without breaking your current links:
- While logged in to an admin account, click More → Account.
- Scroll down to the Vanity URL section.
- Check the box labeled Enable Vanity URL.
- Enter the desired name in the Vanity Name field.
- Click Save.
Now your booking page and messaging portal will have a URL that is more recognizable to your clients!
What if we Update from one Vanity URL to Another Vanity URL?
If your practice changes from one Vanity URL to another Vanity URL (this is not common), then both your booking link and your portal link will change. Follow the steps below to address this:
If you are using PracticeQ Telehealth, please refresh your existing appointments to generate a new Telehealth meeting link:
- Open the appointment dialog.
- Change the service in the Service field. It doesn't matter what you change it to; just choose a different service.
- Click Save.
- Re-open the appointment dialog.
- Select the correct service again.
- Click Save.
Note: Complete this process for all appointments that were already on the schedule when the Vanity URL was updated.
After appointments have been refreshed, we recommend the following:
- Update the portal link and booking link embedded on your practice website
- Send a bulk message to clients sharing the new portal link. This article will show you how to do this: Bulk Send Client Portal Messages.
