Integrate PracticeQ with Dropbox
Connect your PracticeQ account with Dropbox and have your submitted client forms automatically uploaded to a Dropbox folder.
- Your client notes will also upload to a Dropbox folder once locked.
- Choose form/note file attachments from the client file to be downloaded to Dropbox as well.
To connect your Dropbox account, follow the steps below:
- Click More → Settings → Integrations.
- Click the Dropbox logo.
- Click the Connect with Dropbox button.
- You will be redirected to a Dropbox page, asking you to authorize the connection. If you are not logged in to Dropbox, you will be asked to log in.
Once the connection has been authorized, you will be redirected back to PracticeQ and a few settings will be presented. These settings will allow you to specify whether or not to auto-upload forms and notes and which folder structure to use.
This connection does not upload previously submitted forms or locked notes. It works going forward once the sync is established.
Folder Structure Note: With our Dropbox integration you can only specify a folder directly off the root (main) section of your account, sub-folders don't work.
PracticeQ will not have access to your whole Dropbox account, but only the folder Dropbox/Apps/IntakeQ.
HIPAA Considerations
- Dropbox does not fall into PracticeQ's Business Associate Agreement, so to comply with HIPAA, you should obtain a separate BAA from Dropbox. As of this writing, Dropbox offers a BAA under their Business Plan: https://www.dropbox.com/help/security/business-associate-agreement
- If you are using the Dropbox app in your computer and do not want forms and notes to be stored on your hard-drive, you can use Dropbox's selective sync feature and uncheck the Apps/IntakeQ folder.
- To further improve security, it's always a good idea to enable 2-factor authentication in your Dropbox accounts.
