PracticeQ Payments - Credit Card Pre-Authorization
With PracticeQ Payments, you can run pre-authorizations on credit and debit cards added to the system, allowing you to verify that cards are valid and can be charged.
Note: This feature is only available with PracticeQ Payments and not with any other payment processors.
- As an account admin, click Bookings → Booking Settings.
- Select the Payments tab.
- Under the Credit Card Validation heading, check the box labeled Perform pre-auth validation when a new credit card is entered.
- PracticeQ explains what will happen when this box is checked:
When enabled, the system will initiate a 1¢ pre-authorization transaction to ensure the card is valid and immediately void the transaction. No funds will be withdrawn from the client's account, although they may see the pre-authorization transaction on their statement.
If the card fails authorization, it will not be added to the clients account.
