The below instructions are very important so please follow carefully.

What PracticeQ Can Import from SimplePractice

  1. Client Demographics
  2. Charts

SimplePractice Export: Client Demographics and Charts

SP allows you to export client and chart data at the same time using their Data Export feature.

To export the client demographics and full chart history for your clinic, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to your SimplePractice dashboard and click "Analytics" in the left-hand menu
  2. Under the "Analytics" section, select "Reports"
  3. If needed, you can filter the report by date range, client status, client type or Insurance Payer
  4. Select the "Export" dropdown option
  5. On the data export page, select one of the following options:
    1. A Primary Clinician: If there is more than one staff member in your account, select this option. This separates the data by a clinician, which allows us to import the charts under the correct author. You’ll want to perform the export for each clinician transferring.
    2. All Clients: If there is only one staff member in your account (i.e. solo practitioner), select this option.
  6. Select "Complete"
  7. Select whether you would like to password-protect the file. If you choose to add a password, please provide the password to us during the import process.
  8. It will take a few minutes to generate your export. You'll get an email letting you know when your export file is ready to download. After you receive this email, you should return to the Data Export page where you’ll see a link to download the export file to your computer.

SimplePractice provides a detailed exporting guide with visuals for reference.

A Note About Client Contacts

SimplePractice exports the emergency contacts as part of the main client list. If you have emergency contacts, please expect to have to manage their status after import. If you can remove them from the data ahead of time. This might save you time after import.
