Engage - Register Your SMS Number In Engage
To comply with federal regulations and reduce spam, all businesses that send SMS (text) messages must register their texting number. In 2023, mobile carriers began blocking messages from unregistered numbers, so registration is essential for your texts to be delivered successfully.
Your Toll Free Number (Temporary)
When you sign up for Engage, your account will automatically be given a Toll Free number.
This number allows you to start sending texts while you complete the 10DLC registration to get a dedicated 10-digit number.
What Is 10DLC?
10DLC stands for "10-Digit Long Code" — it’s a standard U.S. phone number that’s linked to your business.
You’ll need to register one 10DLC number per location in your practice.
You can:
- Register for a new number (usually matches your location’s area code), or
- Register your existing business number
VOIP and mobile numbers cannot be provisioned for texting.
Registration approval typically takes up to 2 weeks.
🔁 Even if you have registered for 10DLC in other systems, you still need to complete the registration in Engage.
Register Your 10-Digit Number
- Click Engage from your PracticeQ toolbar.
- Click Location Details.
- The page will default to the General tab. Select the Business tab.
- Complete or update the form.
- Click REGISTER.
You will have the option to register your existing phone number, so texts come from your familiar business number.
After Registration
Once your 10DLC registration is approved:
- Your Toll Free number will be replaced with your new 10-digit number
- The REGISTER button will disappear and you’ll see green VERIFIED text
Cost
There is no extra fee for 10DLC registration. It is included in your subscription.
