ePrescribe: Prescribe Controlled Substances

When you prescribe controlled substances, PracticeQ and ePrescribe will guide you through the process of verifying your identity.

Create the Prescription and Sign into ID.me

  1. Click Lists → Clients and open the client's profile.
  2. Select the Prescriptions tab.
  3. Click the green Prescribe New Drug button
  4. Search for and select the medication, strength, and instructions.
  5. Edit the prescription as needed and select a pharmacy destination.
  6. Click Send to Pharmacy.
  7. The 2 factor approval process will begin for the controlled prescriptions.
  8. The ID.me window will open:
    1. Enter your email and username for your personal ID.me account. This should have been created during your initial sign-up with ePrescribe.
    2. The ID.me window will then ask you to complete the second step; for many this is the cell phone app.  A green circle will spin onscreen and it will indicate you need to go to your ID.me app to approve the sign-in to ID.me.
    3. Go to your cell phone, open the Authenticator app and click Yes
  9. You will then return to ePrescribe. Review the order and click Approve and Send; the prescription will send to the pharmacy.

Cell Phone View:
